Platypus® Hydration Sponsors the 2012 Leadville Race Series

Platypus Hydration has signed a multi-year agreement with Lifetime Fitness, Inc. that includes sponsorship of the Leadville Series through 2013 with the option to extend annually.

This summer, thousands of trail running and mountain biking endurance athletes will descend on Leadville, Colorado to partake in the 30th annual Leadville Race Series. The iconic series stretches across three months, June to August, and attracts determined athletes from around the world.

The Series features two training camps, a five-series qualifying mountain bike race, and nine competitive trail running and mountain biking events. The grueling courses challenge athletes to push themselves as they ascend the Colorado Rockies at elevations from 9,200 to 12,600 feet.

During the span of this competition, a few men and women will attempt to complete five events — Leadville Trail Marathon, Leadville Silver Rush 50-mile Mountain Bike or Run, Leadville Trail 100 Mountain Bike, Leadville Trail 100 run and Leadville 10K Run — to earn the rare titles of Leadville Leadman and Leadwoman.

As the exclusive hydration sponsor, Platypus Hydration will have representatives on-site August 10-12 for the Leadville Trail 100-mile Mountain Bike Race and 10K Run, and August 17-19 for the Leadville Trail 100-mile Run, with product displays, information, giveaways and promotions. Although the Leadville Trail 100-mile Mountain Bike race is currently sold out, Platypus Hydration is recruiting a team of enthusiastic athletes through its Platypus Facebook page and will provide paid entry, team kits and Platypus Hydration packs for the chosen few who make the team.
