Osprey Makes Radical Updates To Best Selling Atmos and Aura for SS12

Osprey Packs is updating two of its groundbreaking backpacking lines - ATMOS (men’s) and AURA (women’s) Series – to deliver enhanced fit and greater comfort on the trail for SS12.

Cortez, CO – July 27, 2011 – Osprey Packs, Inc. – a leader in creating top-quality, high-performance, innovative packs to comfortably and efficiently carry gear – is updating two of its groundbreaking backpacking lines for Spring 2012. The ATMOS (men's) and AURA (women's) Series – which together set the standard for weight, ventilation and comfort in backpacking – are being further refined to deliver enhanced fit and greater comfort on the trail.

“We've developed more advanced technologies over the years and are thrilled to integrate them into our popular Atmos and Aura Series,” said Gareth Martins, marketing director of Osprey. “For Spring ‘12, our AirSpeed suspension system, interchangeable harnesses and adjustable hipbelt work together to create unrivaled comfort.”

Key to the redesign on both series is Osprey's radical redesign of the harness and hipbelt systems. All Atmos and Aura packs now have customizable fit, with a torso adjustable, interchangeable harness and an exclusive adjustment system that allows the belt to be custom fitted while in use. Amazingly, Osprey has achieved this with no increase in weight or price.

Other Atmos/Aura Series shared features include:
• New lightweight, high strength fabric set for excellent durability and lighter trail weight
• Front stretch woven pocket for quick, convenient storage
• Side stretch mesh pockets with InsideOut compression
• Zippered fabric hipbelt pockets provide secure, accessible storage
• Two large front zippered pockets help organize gear
• Floating top pocket with under lid mesh pocket
• Large main compartment with hydration sleeve and reservoir clip
• Removable sleeping pad straps
• Stow-on-the-Go quick stash trekking pole attachment system

Osprey Packs
Independent since 1974 and anchored by the design genius of company founder and owner, Mike Pfotenhauer, Osprey Packs has long set the standard for creating innovative, high quality gear carrying equipment. The collection includes packs and bags designed to help adventurers enjoy their outdoor, biking and travel pursuits.

The location of company headquarters in Cortez, Colorado, near the rugged San Juan Mountains and on the edge of desert canyon country, provides a constant inspiration and a superb testing ground for Osprey products. Osprey also maintains a product development office in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, near the factories where they manufacture their products, ensuring face-to-face relationships and transparency with their suppliers. In 2010, Osprey opened a design office in Mill Valley, California, a hub of design talent and the birthplace of mountain biking. All three of these offices play a crucial role in creating Osprey gear that lasts a lifetime.

To celebrate its 35th anniversary in 2009, Osprey launched the All Mighty Guarantee, an enhancement of a lifetime warranty that was already one of the most robust in the industry. Free of charge, the company will repair any damage or defect in its product – whether it was purchased in 1974 or yesterday. Every Osprey product reflects the company's commitment to protect the wild places its customers love to explore.
