American Adventure Sports is proud to announce that East Coast Adventure Racing Series (ECARS) has been rebranded as the North American Adventure Racing Series (NAARS) for the 2013/2014 season. The series includes races all over the continent ranging from Canada and all across the United States to Central America. The international series is broken down into three regions: East Coast, Central and West Coast. Each region hosts a regional championship race, and the overall series championship is held in Belize in early 2014. In its inaugural year, NAARS seeks to grow its coalition of race directors and become a fifty-race series.

NAARS was created due to a real sense of frustration about the lack of growth the sport has seen and the return on investment for both producers and racers. The original East Coast Adventure Racing Series began as a testament to beliefs that race directors could create a platform offering not only themselves, but their participants and sponsors continual growth and progress. It is time to step forward for a more revolutionary change in the sport by transforming into a North American series.

As evidence of the hard work and quality of work the AAS staff puts in to growing the sport, NAARS currently offers over $50,000 in prizes and gear from sponsors who have supported American Adventure Sports for numerous years such as SOG knives (5 years), Princeton Tec headlamps (4 years), and Darn Tough socks (3 years). The staff also continues to be able to add new sponsors every year including ZEMgear minimalist footwear and Toast skin care products who have agreed to sign on for the 2013 season.

The North American AR Series is managed by a dedicated staff of professionals with expertise in race production, film and media production, and social media marketing. In conjunction with Gnarly Crew Media, AAS offers race producers, racers, and fans the most up-to-date information on all aspects of Adventure Racing. Facebook, Twitter, Blogger and Instagram allow them to connect live and directly to fans and create as much exposure of the sport as possible which in turn helps the sport and its fan base grow.

This truly is an exciting step forward for everyone involved in the sport of Adventure Racing, and the AAS staff hopes to see much success for the 2013/2014 racing season.
