Bothell, WA – When Moving Comfort was founded in 1977, Title IX had been law for five years yet women still had only men's or unisex clothing to choose from when it came to finding comfortable athletic clothing. Moving Comfort came to the rescue when the company's founders, Ellen Wessel and Elizabeth Goeke, two female long distance runners, hauled out an old Singer sewing machine and started stitching custom-made running clothes for their friends. Since then, Moving Comfort has become a leader in developing technically superior performance athletic wear for women.

Moving Comfort addresses the significant anatomical differences between women's bodies and men's. A good fit is a prerequisite for comfort, allows freedom of movement and also looks a whole lot better! Consider running shorts as an example. Compared with men, women are generally broader in the hips, and narrower in the waist. Moving Comfort recognized these inherent differences and customizes the fit of their shorts just for women with a longer rise, custom fit liners and non-roll elastic waistbands.

Understanding the unique needs of active women, Moving Comfort has amassed unparalleled expertise as the leader in sports bra design and development. The renowned Moving Comfort Bra Collection is the result of over a decade of experience perfecting fit, support and comfort. A good sport bra provides superior breast support, comfort, breathability and moisture control. Each Moving Comfort bra features advanced construction and fabrics that offer maximum support and comfort.

After 30 years, no other company runs, bikes, hikes, walks, rides, trains and dreams athletic wear the way Moving Comfort does. At the heart of everything that they do is the belief that a fit woman is a powerful woman® and that every woman has the right to live her life in moving comfort.

“We have thirty years of ground breaking history within the women's apparel industry,” says Julie Baxter, Vice President of Moving Comfort. "As we look to the future, we are building on that momentum and designing our best collections yet. For Spring 2008 we are incorporating new technology, innovative designs and a fresh look for our logo and branding identity.”
