Two Harbors, MN — June 11, 2019 — In Spring 2020, Granite Gear, Minnesota manufacturer of award-winning backpacks, portage packs and travel gear, will introduce three new daypacks that follow the brand’s design culture that is minimalist, yet highly functional. Applying their knowledge of ultralight multi-day backpacks, Granite Gear designed the Scurry, Dagger and Shovel Point backpacks to comfortably and confidently serve the needs of specific one-day outdoor activities.

“All three of our new daypacks are built for perpetual use and offer features that are tailored to meet the demands of particular recreational activities,” said Creative Director, David Eisenberg. “Whether someone frequently scrambles up 12ers, sections hikes or needs more of a gear-hauler, they’ll find what they need in these daypacks.”

Scurry
The Scurry is a lightweight, 24-liter daypack that is ideal for scrambling up rocks and changing routes quickly. The dense, low-profile foams in the back panel and shoulder straps keep the pack high and tight and help it to move with the wearer and close to theircenter of gravity. Available in two colors: Black and Midnight Blue/Flint and weighs 1.1 lbs. MSRP: $84.95

Pack Features
• Roll-top main compartment, secondary zippered front pocket
• Low-profile, foam padded back panel and shoulder straps
• Hydration port and internal sleeve
• Stretch woven side pockets
• Adjustable sternum strap and webbing waist belt
• Robic high tenacity nylon (100D and Custom 210D)

Dagger
The 22-liter Dagger daypack is built for hiking trails. Utilizing the iconic Granite Gear arch system to anchor the pack down, the weight is distributed via a thin frame sheet and the hip-hugging form of the pack to the webbing waist belt. With added volume in the external stretch woven side pockets and large front pocket with an overlapping cord system, the Dagger is ready to carry all the wearer needs for the day. Available in colors Black and Fatigue and weighs 1.5 lbs. MSRP: $99.95

Pack Features
• Zippered access to main compartment
• Top secondary, quick-stash pocket
• Hydration port and internal sleeve
• Dual-density padded back panel and shoulder straps
• Removable frame sheet
• Removablewebbing waist belt with emphasized hip-hugging form
• Arched compression strap system
• Stretch woven side pockets
• Tall front stretch woven pocket with reflective cord system
• Adjustable sternum strap
• Robic high tenacity nylon (100D and Custom 210D)

Shovel Point
The largest of the daypacks, the Shovel Point, is 28-Liters and will haul heavier gear, such as a helmet, rope and shovel more comfortably and securely. The 210D Nylon front panel expands outward to stash gear and acts as a compression arch when not in use. Including the Re-Fit waist hipbelt, which is fully adjustable from 26" to 42" waists, the Shovel Point has the potential to carry bigger loads. Available in Flint/Black and Arabica/Tiger and weighs 2lbs. MSRP: $119.95
