Granite Gear Blaze 60 Wins Backpacker Magazine’s Editor’s Choice Award

Two Harbors, MN — February 6, 2019 —Backpacker Magazine has awarded the all new Granite Gear Blaze 60 multi-day backpack the Editor’s Choice Gold award for 2019. The Editor’s Choice Gold Award, a first for Granite Gear, recognizes the Blaze 60’s update of Granite Gear’s original Blaze AC 60, which won Backpacker’s Editor’s Choice award in 2011. Weighing three pounds with a load capacity of 50 pounds, the new Blaze 60 stands out from any other backpack on the market.

“Granite Gear’s new Blaze 60 nails the sweet spot for lightweight backpacks,” said Backpacker Editor-in-chief Dennis Lewon. “It delivers meaningful weight saving without compromising comfort or durability.”


Notable features of the backpack include Granite Gear’s custom 210D Robic high tenacity nylon interwoven with Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene triple ripstop fibers. Representing 21% of the overall material in the 210D fabric areas, the UHMWPE has been placed in load bearing and high impact and abrasion areas to make it as durable as possible.Other features include the all new Air Current frame sheet with specific adjustment points to lock in exact torso size, the Re-Fit fully adjustable dual-density hip belt, a hidden front-access zipper andlarger side pockets .

The Blaze 60 is available in Unisex fit in size Short, Regular and Long weighing respectively 2.9lbs, 3lbs and 3.1lbs and Women’s-Specific fit in Short and Regular weighing 2.9lbs and 3lbs. Torso lengths fit 15-24 inches and the backpack has a volume of 60 liters with a 50 pound load rating.
