WAREHAM, Mass. (April 14, 2009) – Every runner remembers their first marathon – the cheering crowds, the clock, the finish line.

As the running world turns its attention to the 113th annual Boston Marathon being held April 20, GoMotion gears up for its initial John Hancock Sports & Fitness Expo, the 3-day running and fitness show held in Boston’s Hynes Convention Center, just a quarter-mile from the Boston Marathon finish line in Copley Square.

Company founders Bob Hunnewell and Jonathan Craig will be at the GoMotion booth, displaying to some 80,000 expo attendees their innovative line of hi-output wearable lighting systems. GoMotion allows for activities like marathon training, walking, hiking or Nordic skiing in the dark hours without restrictions of carrying a flashlight or experiencing the discomfort of wearing a headlamp.

The Expo also marks the launch of the new GoMotion Waist Light Kit that connects the Luxeon LED module to the front of existing waist or hydration packs. The GoMotion lighting system is also available on small packs with the StreetRunner and TrailRunner models, and a waist-mounted model called the SportRunner LiteBelt. Rounding out the line is the Sternum Light Kit, that attaches to existing backpacks. All GoMotion products will be on sale at the expo.

Hunnewell and Craig will also be conducting give-aways of select GoMotion gear throughout the Expo (at Booth #1927), which runs April 17-19. Admission to the show, tagged “best runner’s expo in the country” by Runner’s World Magazine, is free.

“We know there are some runners who’ve used GoMotion in their training for the most famous marathon in the world, and we’re looking forward to visiting with them,” said Craig. “We’re also excited about showing off our new lighting systems to runners who have yet to see them.”

Norm Larson, of Burlington, VT, was among the first runners to try out GoMotion, using it last year as part of a team of testers. Larson won the M-50 division of the 2008 Boston Marathon with a time of 2:39.13.

Craig and Hunnewell will be posting expo and Boston Marathon updates throughout the weekend on Twitter and Facebook. Follow “gomotiongear” on Twitter to get the inside scoop from Boston.

The complete line of GoMotion products are available across the U.S. at select outdoor gear stores, on-line, and more than two-dozen Eddie Bauer retail outlets.
