NEWMARKET, NH, January 10, 2013 – Expanding on the brand's breakthrough collection that introduced the world to the category of Outdoor Cross Training (OXT), GoLite Footwear today announced their newest line. “This season we've pushed the OXT concept even farther, redefining what people can expect from their footwear,” says GoLite Footwear CEO Doug Clark. “The collection combines the lightweight agility of a trail runner, with the versatility, support and protection of a hiking shoe. That means zero compromise—for any activity, on any terrain.”

"Like every shoe we make, the new OXT collection starts with our RockAbsorber Technology,” explains GoLite Footwear Vice President of Sales Jody Linehan. “It absorbs the terrain at the ground level—like an SUV—and stabilizes the body. We combine this exclusive technology with lightweight EVA, TPU and a resin-impregnated rock plate to break the compromise between protection and agility.”

Highlights from the collection include the trail-runner-inspired Comp for men and women; the XT 85 hiker for men; and the adventure-travel-themed XT 90 for men and women.

“When we use the term ‘adventure travel,' we mean real adventure—not sightseeing,” says Clark. “This is for people who one minute are hiking on a trail, the next are scrambling across sharp rocks, and when the terrain levels off a bit, they break into a run. We effectively end the this-or-that decision outdoor enthusiasts often face.”

Topping off the innovation, upper protection comes in the form of TPU cages, rubber rands and nubuck rands—what Linehan calls “smartly designed, activity-specific, logical componentry.”

“By combining these technologies with the unconventional thinking that went into the Outdoor Cross Training collection, we've ended up with lightweight footwear that can do it all. You can hike, rock scramble, trail run—and nothing's going to slow you down,” concludes Clark.
