Denver, CO— March 20, 2012 — First Descents, a non-profit organization providing outdoor adventure therapy to young adults with cancer is unveiling FD Mobile, a thrill-driven campaign to bring healing directly to survivors and fighters and so bring awareness to First Descents programs. Equipped with outdoor recreation gear, FD Mobile is a van designed to bring the First Descents experience to events, organizations and small groups. By making outdoor adventures more accessible, First Descents will deliver its high-energy, life-changing opportunities to more people than ever.

FD Mobile is a Ford E350 Sportmobile Conversion vehicle outfitted with surfboards, stand-up paddleboards, kayaks, bikes and climbing equipment. Road-tripping around the United States year-round, FD Mobile will stop at outdoor sports competitions and festivals as well as excursions set up through care facilities and cancer organizations.

“FD Mobile will allow First Descents to reach new communities and introduce folks to the outdoor-focused method of fighting and surviving we've seen work wonders at our programs over the past 11 years,” says First Descents Marketing Manager Rebekah Koenigbauer. “FD Mobile is packed up with all kinds of great outdoor sports gear that will help so many people experience an epic adventure and push themselves beyond the limits of their diagnosis..”

The FD Mobile 2012 tour kicks off in April 2012 and includes stops in: Vail, CO, Park City, UT, Boise, ID, Portland, OR, Dallas, TX, Santa Fe, NM, Joshua Tree, CA, San Diego, CA, Jackson, WY, Bozeman, MT and many more. The FD Mobile crew will blog and film along the way, chronicling the inspiring experiences and individuals they meet along the way.
