Bringing the thrill of outdoor adventure closer to home, Eastern Mountain Sports, one of the nation's largest outdoor retailers, today announced its partnership with White Mountain Exploration (www.whitemountainexploration.com), a ”base camp” for outdoor pursuits located at Tenney Mountain in Plymouth, New Hampshire. Kicking off the summer season July 4th weekend, Eastern Mountain Sports' professional guides will staff events ranging from zip lining, kayaking, rock climbing, mountain biking, geocaching and guided hikes designed for outdoor enthusiasts, families, singles and vacationers looking for different weekend or vacation options that are easily accessible.

”With consumers looking for fresh alternatives requiring less driving, The White Mountain Exploration Center is easily accessible,” said Roger Poor, director of outdoor education at Eastern Mountain Sports. “The White Mountain Exploration Center provides the backdrop for an engaging outdoor experience for the outdoor athlete, as well as consumers looking for a new experience,” continued Poor. “Our staff gives consumers valuable knowledge and the tools they need to not only learn new outdoor skills, but also, to enjoy their experiences.”

Activities for the summer season, which goes through October 31 include: the new Canyoneering-Zip Line Adventure program, featuring over 5000 feet of zip line; kayaking tours on Squam Lake, made famous by the motion picture ,“On Golden Pond”; mountain biking tours, exclusively using state-of-the-art Iron Horse Mountain Bikes; rock climbing adventures with private or group lessons; and geocaching. Geocaching is an outdoor treasure-hunting game in which the participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers (called "geocaches" or "caches") anywhere in the world.
