The annual “Dash 4 Cash” charity mountain bike race is set for June 2 at 2:00 pm in Freeport, Pa this year. This partners with the “Buffalo Stampede” which follows the same mountain bike course but on foot. Bikers will go off first and then the runners will follow.
Registration will close on May 29 and there are three categories to sign up under: novice (5 miles), sport (14.4 miles), and expert (19.4).

The trail that will be ridden is designed and maintained by the Buffalo Riders and the race benefits the South Buffalo Fire and Rescue Squad.

This race is not the average charity event though as the trail rolls through some very difficult terrain. Rolling hills into boulder fields, stream crossings and some big timber are just a few of the obstacles on the trail. This race features some intense uphill sections combined with gut checking downhill parts and even includes a tunnel to ride through as well. Many people who sign up for the expert course settle for the sport course after completing it.
To prevent bottlenecks, the race is a time trial format that has a staggered interval start. Two riders of assumed equal skill will start every minute in order to keep the riders spread out over the course.

After the race there will be a BBQ afterwards for the racers, friends and family. There is live music starting at 5:00 PM and alcoholic beverages being served (to all patrons over 21 of course). Non-bikers are asked to bring a covered dish or a $10 donation for anyone enjoying the BBQ festival. There is also a special children's section and a gear raffle that is open to anyone at the festival.

American Adventure Sports is also a co-sponsor to the event, a company that sponsors adventure racing teams and owns retail stores in Indiana, PA and Greensburg, PA.
