Friedrichshafen, Germany—Boreas Gear, the San Francisco based outdoor adventure gear company, has won a 2012 OutDoor INDUSTRY AWARD for its Bolinas backpack at the OutDoor Show in Friedrichshafen, Germany. The OutDoor INDUSTRY AWARD is a young, yet renowned, competition for the Outdoor industry. Receiving an award is based on criteria such as degree of innovation, material, functionality or sustainability.

The judges tried out, tested, tried on and discussed a total of 322 product innovations from 25 nations from around the world. The results of the OutDoor INDUSTRY AWARD 2012 concluded this past week with 48 entries rewarded with one of the most important seals of quality in the outdoor industry.

Bolinas, Boreas' third award-winning bag, features the companies new variable suspension system called the SUPER-TRAMP (patent pending). The SUPER-TRAMP* variable suspension system allows the users to switch from a super-stable, back-hugging workhorse to a ventilated, weight-off-your-back pack with one switch pull of the strap.

By using silicone impregnated nylon rather than the standard polyurethane, these packs gain waterproofing without compromising fabric strength. An added bonus: there's an additional waterproofed pocket for your wallet, keys, or a snack for the journey.

The 30-liter roll top Bolinas is not only ergonomically sound but easy on the eyes to boot. Priced at $139.99 MSRP and coming in a range of colors, the sleek design of these packs are something to be admired on and off the trail—while remaining true to the needs of busy bodies near and far.

About Boreas Gear:
Boreas makes outdoor equipment you can use everyday: beautiful, practical, hardwearing stuff for passionate people with things to do. We believe the best gear is neither complicated nor expensive, that it should be as versatile as the person using it, and that there's no reason to compromise form for function.
