Backcountry.com's Cheif Marketing Officer, Dustin Robertson and Footwear Buyer, Lauren Barra provide ecommerce insight to OR's New Media and Footwear Discussion Panels

Salt Lake City, Utah – Backcountry.com's Chief Marketing Officer, Dustin Robertson, and Footwear Buyer, Lauren Barra will be adding the outdoor etailer's unique perspective to two panel discussions at the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market trade show, this week.

Robertson will be joining the new media panel, titled “The Media is Dead. Long Live the Media,” which takes place Saturday, January 23rd from 7:30am to 9:00am. The panel will discuss the ‘blurring of lines between traditional media, social media, journalism and advertising, and selling products and telling stories,' and will include Steve Casimiro, editor of The Adventure Life blog; Jon Dorn, EIC of Backpacker; Stiv Wilson, EIC of Wend; and Rich Kelly, Social Media Manager of Nielsen Business Media.

As the CMO of Backcountry.com, Dustin will offer experience-based insight on Backcountry.com's recent Community initiative which this panel hopes to explore as it relates to the future of "media."

Backcountry.com's footwear buyer and overall shoe guru, Lauren Barra, will be a panelist on Footrwear News' “Footwear: Hot Trends, Retail Tips and Vendor Views” panel. Saturday from 8:00 am to 9:00 am. Lauren, who says she loves shoes as much as bacon and fried bologna sandwiches, will join, Bill Dodge, VP of Product Development at Wolverine Outdoor Group; Ahnu Founder and President Jim Van Dine; and REI Footwear Product Manager, Denise Friend.
