AKU Welcomes Expanded Sales Force in U.S.


Montreal, Canada (October 28, 2013) – AKU, an Italian company known for its high quality footwear designed for mountaineering, trekking and hiking, is pleased to announce the addition of four new sales reps to support significant retailer demand in the U.S. The new hires include: Martin Socha who will be covering New England and Mid-Atlantic, Michelle Emmons in the Southwest, and Scott Slocum and Will Nagengast will be splitting the Midwest states.

“We welcome this group of talented individuals to our company and feel each person brings a unique skill set with a diverse background that will continue to enhance the AKU brand,” says Sam McCoubrey, director of AKU North America. “Our recent growth in North America is reflected in our efforts to create the best products for our active consumers.”

Martin Socha is no stranger to the outdoor and wintersports industry. Michelle Emmons started her career in retail management at REI and brings extensive sales and communications experience in outdoor retail marketing, along with the practical experience of guiding people to enjoy outdoor adventure.
