Backpacker magazine has a new publisher. Rodale Inc.'s senior vice president of the company's newly formed Men's Health and Sports Group, Tom Beusse, told SNEWS® that John Boland will be replacing John Viehman as publisher of Backpacker, effective immediately. Viehman will assume a new role as editorial director of the magazine. Prior to his new appointment, Boland spent time at Ziff Davis Media as publisher for Expedia Travels Magazine. Boland has also worked for Men's Journal as an associate publisher and Women's Sports and Fitness as the advertising manager.
