Hey outdoor women: Have you ever felt like sausage in casing when trying on women’s outdoor clothes? Or like you’ve ventured back in time to the era of mom-jeans with weird cuts and too much paisley? We have too.
We’re excited to introduce you to the hottest new women’s outdoor and adventure wear brand, Wild Rye. A brand that we—two women from the outdoor/active lifestyle industries—founded because we weren’t finding the combination of feminine, fashion-forward style with key performance features, fabrics, and contemporary fit. The brand, originally introduced in August 2016, designs and brings to life beautiful, technical apparel for women and is currently focused on the snow soft goods and mountain bike categories.
One of the many things that sets us apart is that we design for women and only women. We are dedicated to fitting a wide array of body shapes, comfortably. We measure and fit every garment on a minimum of three real women that wear the same size but are different shapes, heights, and proportions. This means better fit for a broader range of women—not just elite athletes.
Why does this matter? Well, in case you haven't noticed, women are different from men, both mentally and physiologically. We find that when women are comfortable and feel good in their own skin (and clothes) it translates to confidence and thus participation in all aspects of life—from the outdoors to the boardroom. Plus, who doesn’t like to look good while charging? Beyond the clothes, we’re passionate about supporting and empowering women at every stage of their outdoor pursuits—from beginner to pro to après enthusiast. We would love to talk with like-minded retail partners about helping to spread the brand and our mission.
