Ride the elevator with Elizabeth Mirowski, CEO and founder of Shoe Defenders.
At Shoe Defenders, we have reimagined the way we approach stink. Through our product, outdoor lovers can get the most enjoyment from their time outdoors and kick off their shoes with confidence when they're indoors.
Shoe Defenders are sole-shaped items you place in your shoes when not in use. They absorb sweat and moisture and leave your shoes smelling great. In fact, they absorb five times more moisture than our top competitor.
Unlike other products on the market, we focus on creating the highest quality product while focusing on sustainability. Our products are compostable or recyclable. We use U.S.-sourced materials whenever possible and each pair is hand-made in the mountain town of Nederland, Colorado. We employ local residents and are proud to offer them flexible schedules. This allows them to get needed income on their own time, simultaneously pursue their own passions, or even catch an awesome ski day as we believe that all work and no play isn’t good for anyone.
However, we aim to go beyond that. Our passion is not only to offer flexible schedules and free people from smelly shoes, but to further build a company that helps those in need. We are looking for you to help us grow our sales so we can expand our workforce to women’s battered shelters. Frequently, these women are in desperate need of flexible work that can be done with little training. Our goal will be to train them in all aspects of the business, so they can become independent and contribute back in the ways that align with their strengths.
Defenders are fully customizable and one pair can last up to an entire year.
