Ride the elevator with Tim Nickles, founder and CEO of Roofnest.

Roofnest started on a road trip to Moab with a big group of friends getting together to laugh, play music, share stories, and enjoy all the fun a good desert weekend can serve up. We want to share this experience–the experience of taking off, going somewhere fun, and having a blast. Our sole mission is to make car camping easy, fun, and extremely comfortable.

The Roofnest rooftop tent is our product line's foundation. It's a tent that attaches to your car's roof rack, pops up in minutes, and will have you daydreaming of places you can explore to see new things and create new experiences. We make several models and they all represent an outstanding value within the market ($2,195-2,695). We've stripped our tents down to the essentials and focused on quality to sell tents that are simple, durable, comfortable, and have "everything you need and nothing you don't." Our company structure supports this relentless pursuit of value as well. We sell direct to consumer; work with third parties to handle our shipping, handling, and order fulfillment; and keep the variation in our products limited to reduce costs even further.

Getting out of town and into a new place is good for your soul and making that escape from your routine refreshes you, relaxes you, and reminds you of why you’re living and what (or who) you really want to be chasing. That’s what this company is all about: helping you get out there and have a comfortable, concrete-free experience.

And to make your camping trip even better, we've created a few accessories, like the Roofnest Cooler ($549), a 12V, ruggedized refrigerator with a battery protection function to ensure you can still start your car after crushing those ice cold La Croix.

Do you have a new product or company you want to pitch? Here's how to do it.
