| SNEWS Mini-Survey provides look at how retailers are adjusting to the new economic climate
Mar 27, 2009 The SNEWS® Mini-Survey that ended March 26, 2009 asked, “What are you doing differently to help your retail business survive the current economy?” It was refreshing to read that more than seven of 10 (71 percent) of our respondents indicated they were emphasizing more customer service and follow-up. Not surprisingly, more than two-thirds or 68 percent responded that they were “keeping their inventories leaner” while 53 percent indicated they were carrying fewer SKUs in their stores. | Timberland relaunches Mountain Athletics brand with new approach
Mar 25, 2009 The year was 1998 and Timberland decided that in order not to confuse the consumer and to focus on its “tree” branding, the company needed to eliminate any brand except Timberland. That meant the company’s outdoor specialty-only footwear line, dubbed Mountain Athletics, was integrated into the broader Timberland offering. Fitnex E55SG Elliptical Sep 14, 2011 So many ellipticals can be large and pricy, and the though the smaller ones may have a lower price tag, what they give up to get there makes for a more wobbly ride that’s not as much fun.
