See-through supply chains -- putting corporate responsibilty online
Jan 14, 2008 Performance apparel manufacturers that make green claims take a lot of heat. Brands that take a strong stand seem to make other manufacturers and consumers want to poke holes in all that green goodness. It's only fair. Anyone can make vague green claims (it's called "greenwashing"), so brands that are truly making efforts to be sustainable keep looking for ways to be transparent, to communicate with customers about the entire supply chain, and create a dialogue about ever-changing manufacturing ethics. These three brands have taken their story to the most accessible platform of all -- the Web... Read Story | Comment on this story | Go to all Business Tools & Advice articles |

Web Extras: How another industry’s women proved they were the boss
Jul 12, 2007 It was 1993. Carolyn Cooke, then in sales at Merrell Footwear, said she felt like a “lonely little girl” wandering around the outdoor industry shows and company hallways. It seemed unfathomable that she was the only woman in this industry, but she sometimes felt as if that was the case.
