1% For The Planet is an international organization with 1,200 businesses members, who contribute at least one percent of their annual sales to environmental causes. Founded by Yvon Chouinard in 2002, 1% has given more than $200 million to environmental nonprofits since then. Member businesses include Patagonia, Backpacker's Pantry, Klean Kanteen, and many other businesses in the outdoor industry and other industries.
