LEBANON, NH. – Völkl's ongoing affiliation with Gibson Guitars has made another important contribution to those pursuing outdoor enjoyment. This year, the collaboration between the two companies benefits the High Fives Foundation.

Founded by Roy Tuscany in 2010, High Fives is dedicated to raising money and awareness for athletes that have suffered a life-altering injury while pursuing their dream in the winter action sports community.

High Fives held an online auction, which culminated in a silent auction on April 17th - the day after its signature event called “Trains” - a unique ski slopestyle competition.

The top bid came from Nick Goepper, a Marker Völkl-sponsored athlete, who clearly appreciated the exceptional blend of Gibson and his equipment of choice. Nick's winning bid of $2,600 makes him the proud new owner of the custom Les Paul and all auction proceeds will go directly to support the High Fives Foundation.

The guitar, donated to the High Fives Foundation by Völkl, is a Gibson Les Paul Custom model, manufactured in Nashville, TN. In addition to all the typical specs one expects to find on a custom Les Paul, the guitar showcased the graphics of Völkl's popular “Katana” model, a big mountain ski featuring the company's Extended Low Profile (ELP) rocker design.

“Our ongoing collaboration with Gibson has been a terrific partnership – this guitar is a great collector's piece and we at Völkl thank each and every bidder in the auction. We also thank Gibson Guitars for their participation - the craftsmanship that goes into their instruments, like that a pair of Völkl skis, speaks for itself,” said Völkl's director of promotions Chris Adams. “We fully endorse High Fives' mission and couldn't be more pleased to have co-sponsored this auction prize.”

Völkl is the world leader in performance driven skis for skiers of all abilities: from the World Cup racer to the family weekend enthusiast. Dominating the market with innovation and design, Völkl leads the way with products for all segments of skiing for men, women, and junior skiers alike.
