Key influencers in the Outdoor Industry offer guerilla-style panel discussion on social media for attendees of the Outdoor Retailer Show In Salt Lake City, January 22nd, 11:00am

Salt Lake City, Utah – Key members of the outdoor adventure community today announced the creation of a guerilla-style panel discussion that exclusively utilizes social media channels to plan, organize and draw audiences to the event. Slated to take place at the Outdoor Retailer, Winter Market industry show, influencers are turning to their own community to build momentum in order to make the event a success.

“We have seen social media inherently change the way we get things done in the outdoor industry,” said Brad Werntz, founder and president of Pemba Serves, Inc. “It's great to be part of a forum where we can share our stories and also learn from real people who have had real successes.”

Program Details:

  • Boots on the Ground: Real People Getting Things Done with Social Media
  • Friday, January 22, 11:00am-12:00pm
  • Marriot Hotel (Salt Lake City Convention Center location), Deer Valley Room

Participating panelists include:

The moderated discussion will focus on case studies that have brought incredible opportunities to influential individuals in the outdoor adventure community, and changed the way they meet and interact with their audiences. Panelists will also share their experiences with social media: what has worked and not worked, how to use it correctly and the backlash that can occur when it lacks authenticity.

“Social media has allowed me to be myself with no filters,” said Steph Davis, author, professional athlete and brand ambassador. “I make stronger, more meaningful connections that allow me to do my job better, without restrictions.”

To help promote the panel discussion, panelists and organizers have turned to social media and their own community to spread the word. Through mutual connections and networks, the community has started to respond to spread the word:
