Outdoor Retailer Launches 'OR Online HUB' at OR Winter Market
Latest online offering extends trade show networking and business opportunities year-round
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. and SALT LAKE CITY - January 20, 2011 - Outdoor Retailer today launched "OR Online HUB" at the OR Winter Market trade show, taking place in Salt Lake City this week. The OR Online HUB is an online extension of the bi-annual business-to-business trade show for the outdoor recreation industry.
The OR Online HUB offers outdoor recreation industry buyers and brands a means to interact year-round via online exhibits that showcase new products, facilitate purchasing and provide a line of communication before, during and after the OR Winter and Summer trade shows.
"So many amazing relationships and partnerships are formed at the Outdoor Retailer show, we want to do everything we can to keep those fires burning all year," said Kenji Haroutunian, Outdoor Retailer show director. "Now instead of just making inroads twice a year at our two great shows, there's opportunity to have regular, meaningful interactions virtually."
The OR Online HUB, developed with technology partners SPARC and GoExpo, will enable brands to maintain an online "exhibit" featuring customizable static and dynamic content. Retailers can then walk the virtual floor to search for updated information with comprehensive directories and detailed company information. OR Online HUB also allows qualified buyers to access catalogs and ordering tools to speed and simplify the buying process. In addition, the HUB acts as an extension of the "Planner Tool," which helps attendees plan how they will attend OR Winter and Summer Market shows by using the Planner's interactive floorplans, featured product showcases, appointment schedules and other tools to set, achieve and review goals at every show.
OR Online HUB is the latest in a series of pioneering web-based innovations from Outdoor Retailer. In December 2010, more than 200 suppliers, designers and developers discussing "Sustainability through Design" attended the Outdoor Retailer Virtual Design Center LIVE (VDC) interactive online conference. Following the event, hundreds more visited the conference archives and virtual trade show booths at outdoorretailer.com from locales as far flung as Russia, Brazil, New Zealand and Kenya.
"This industry has such global connection and reach that bolstering our online offerings is a natural evolution for Outdoor Retailer," Haroutunian said. "Expanding business-to-business opportunities and creating ways for people in the outdoor industry to share their passion has always been what Outdoor Retailer is about, now we can take that to another level with the new OR online HUB."
OR Online HUB representatives will be available during show hours to answer questions and demonstrate the new online capabilities. They are located at the top of the main ramp across from the Adventure Theater and will also give a presentation in the Adventure Theater from 11 a.m.- noon on Friday, January 21. Exhibitors, attendees and media are welcome.
