Cortez, CO – December 17, 2010 – Osprey Packs, Inc., a leader in creating top-quality, high-performance, innovative packs to comfortably and efficiently carry gear, has raised $1400 for Sheep Mountain Alliance through their Fall Local’s Sale, which was held in Cortez on November 5, 2010.

The Osprey Local’s Sale, held biannually, is a reflection of Osprey’s appreciation for and dedication to the Southwest Colorado regional community. Each year, Osprey donates five percent of all proceeds from the two sales events to select, local nonprofit organizations.

This fall, Osprey selected Sheep Mountain Alliance, a grassroots citizen organization dedicated to the preservation of the natural environment in the Telluride Region and Southwest Colorado, to receive the donation. Working with individuals, groups, local landowners and public land managers, Sheep Mountain Alliance provides education for and protection of regional ecosystems, wildlife habitats and watersheds.

“As a company that works, plays and gets its inspiration from Southwest Colorado, we are deeply indebted to Sheep Mountain Alliance for all of their outstanding work in preserving our local ecology and way of life,” said Sam Mix, Outdoor Marketing Manager “We’re glad to help support this vital local organization.”

Through their Spring Local’s Sale, held in May, Osprey donated $1400 to For the Pets’ Sake Humane Society for their work in improving the lives of companion animals in Montezuma and Dolores counties, Colorado. Combined, the two 2010 Osprey Local’s Sales raised $2800 for local area non-profits.
