Octane Fitness Fuels Commercial Market

Octane Fitness, LLC, recently began fulfilling two large commercial orders for its products by installing 72 units at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) and 62 units for the Kentucky Fire Commission.

BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. – July 21, 2009 – Octane Fitness, LLC, a leading brand of multiple award-winning, premium elliptical cross trainers, has continued extending its presence beyond homes and health clubs as it recently began fulfilling two large commercial orders for its products by installing 72 units at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) and 62 units for the Kentucky Fire Commission.
“As our brand becomes better known and more exercisers worldwide experience Octane's many advantages, our commercial sales have continued growing exponentially,” said Dennis Lee, the president of Octane Fitness. “We are thrilled to steadily gain traction in health clubs as well as in multiple vertical markets.”
Virginia Commonwealth University
When the MCV Campus Recreation & Aquatic Center in the Jonah L. Larrick Student Center at VCU in Richmond, Va., reopens in August this year, students will be able to maximize their workouts on 15 Octane Fitness Pro3700 traditional elliptical cross trainers or on five new xR6000 xRide seated ellipticals. Renovation of the MCV Campus Recreation Center includes an expanded, enhanced fitness center with flat screen TVs and state-of-the-art cardiovascular, selectorized and free weight equipment; a two-court gymnasium; group exercise classes; racquetball courts; and a 25-meter heated pool.

In addition, the Cary Street Recreation Complex at VCU, which is also currently being renovated, will offer 41 Octane Pro3700 ellipticals and 11 xR6000 seated ellipticals later this year. Scheduled for completion in spring 2010, the facility will offer an 18,000-square-foot fitness center with a variety of equipment and flat screen TVs, a four-court gymnasium, a rock climbing wall with a bouldering/caving wall, two heated indoor pools, a whirlpool/spa, an indoor running track, group exercise classes, an indoor cycling room, two racquetball courts, and a Multi-Activity Center with indoor turf.
According to Tom Diehl, Director of Recreational Sports at VCU, “Our fitness maintenance equipment manager determined that the Octane ellipticals were the best built and easiest to service on the market. We wanted the best facilities and the best equipment, and I am confident that we have achieved our goal.”
Kentucky Fire Commission
After an incredibly positive experience with 36 Octane Fitness Pro3500XL models starting in 2007, the Kentucky Fire Commission was ready to extend to more of its professional and volunteer firefighters the opportunity to exercise on top-rated equipment. As part of a statewide fitness and wellness initiative, the Kentucky Fire Commission currently is taking delivery of 62 Octane Pro3700 ellipticals to specified departments.
To perform well in the face of the intense rigors of their jobs, firefighters must train the upper and lower body, as well as the cardiovascular system. The Kentucky Fire Commission has found that signature Octane features are beneficial and functional to everyday work demands.
For instance, the GluteKicker aggressively targets the lower body, which typically is the first area to fatigue during a fire rescue. And the patented Converging Path handlebars, along with the ArmBlaster routine, deliver powerful challenges to add strength and endurance.
Octane at the Forefront
Today, Octane Fitness offers 10 standing and seated elliptical models for home use, and four commercial models. Its newest product, the xRide seated elliptical, creates an entirely new way to experience total-body cardiovascular and strength-training exercise. Octane Fitness ellipticals are available direct from the company and through specialty fitness retailers worldwide.
