McNett, the industry leader in gear care and repair products, has earned the EPA Design for the Environment (DfE) certification for its new Smart Suds biodegradable camp soap.
The first camp soap to ever receive the certification, Smart Suds biodegrades rapidly through soil microbe action while remaining free of harsh perfumes, dyes or harsh cleaning agents.
According to the EPA, “Product manufacturers who become DfE partners, and earn the right to display the DfE logo on recognized products, have invested heavily in research and development, to ensure that their ingredients and finished product line up on the green end of the health and environmental spectrum, while maintaining or improving product performance. The DfE label is only approved when a product is best in its class.â€
“This rating was one that we worked for over a long period of time, “stated Product and Marketing Manager George Farkas. “It is an important step in our ongoing efforts to create the most environmentally friendly products available in the market as well as meeting our internal company environmental standards. There's a lot of company pride about this recognition.â€
The approval comes at the end of a year of important environmental strides for McNett. In 2008, the company began purchasing 100% green power for its Bellingham, WA headquarters. The brand also continues a longtime focus on using soy-based inks and the highest recyclable content on the market for packaging materials, as well as encouraging the growth of youth in the outdoors.
McNett Brands and Trademarks are the most recognized and trusted products in their categories. ReviveX®, Aquaseal®, Seam Grip®, Freesole® and Aquamira® brands are available in over 70 countries.
