BOULDER, CO. (May 9, 2018) – Matador Packable Adventure Gear has hired Backbone Media as its public relations agency of record. The Colorado-based agency will handle Matador’s media outreach moving forward.
Founded in 2014 by Chris Clearman, a former senior product designer for GoPro, Matador specializes in high-quality gear that is lightweight and compact. Its flagship product, the Matador Pocket Blanket, is a 3.8 oz. water-repellant and puncture-resistant blanket that fits in a pant pocket.
“The truth is, before you get to those beautiful places, traveling almost always involves some hassle and frustration, if not outright pain and suffering,” stated Clearman. “Our mission at Matador is to make travel and adventure a little bit easier with gear that works. As an agency, Backbone understands our goals and can help tell our stories in an authentic and credible voice.”
Since its founding, Matador has expanded its product line to include packable towels, backpacks, camera cases, duffle bags, and other travel accessories. Matador’s newest product, the Matador Travel Earplugs Kit, conveniently packs memory foam earplugs in a flexible silicon keychain case, providing peaceful silence on noisy flights and crowded buses.
“Matador has found white space in a crowded marketplace of travel gear with design-driven products that are incredibly functional and built to last,” said Ian Anderson, Backbone Media Partner and PR Director. “We have a shared passion for travel and adventure and we are excited to help introduce the Matador brand to more people.”
