On November 1st, 2008, Markus Hefter took over the position of Exhibition Group Director for ispo winter, and will be responsible for all sectors of the international sporting goods exhibition. The 38-year-old business economist replaced Stefan Reschke, who recently moved to Vienna to act as General Manager of MMI Messe München International/Regional Office Central and Eastern Europe. Hefter has been working for ispo since 2007 in the position of Project Director for the Outdoor sector. He was a vital contributor to the development of the new Outdoor concept. He was also a key figure in encouraging the partnership with EOG, which was recently confirmed in a collaboration agreement with ispo winter. Though he has begun working in his new position Hefter will of course continue to act as a contact for the Outdoor Community. Hefter's experience with the trade exposition and event business is not just a result of his time with ispo. He added valuable know-how during his work at the M,O,C, Munich Order Center, from 2004 to 2007. As Project and Sales Manager of the sports and footwear order center he was responsible for the key accounts, as well as quality control and strategic development. One of his successes includes increasing the occupancy of the rental spaces to full capacity. Manfred Wutzlhofer, Chairman & CEO of Messe München GmbH: “We are pleased that Markus Hefter accepted the position of ispo Exhibition Group Director. Thanks to his efforts we were able to considerably strengthen the ispo's Outdoor segment, and we are convinced that he will also be able to leave a positive, strategic mark on the ispo winter overall.” Hefter reports directly to Tobias Gröber, who, as the Director of Consumer Goods Exhibitions, will focus more strongly on other trade exhibitions within this business unit.
