Liberty Bottleworks Launches Earth Day Art Contest
$7 per bottle donated to environmental organization of winner's choice
YAKIMA, Wash. - February 13, 2012 -Break out your sharpies, colored pencils, Macbook Pros or colored crayons: Liberty Bottleworks is taking artwork submissions for a limited edition Earth Day 2012 bottle.
The winning artwork will be printed on Liberty's 100-percent recycled aluminum and BPA-free bottles in the company's Yakima, Wash. factory. The limited edition bottle will be sold online at www.libertybottles.com and in retailers across the country, and $7 from each sale will go to a qualified environmental organization chosen by the winner. The winner will also get a six-pack of their limited edition bottle.
"We know that many of our customers are talented artists who are passionate about the outdoors and environmental stewardship, so we wanted to tap into that creativity and give people a chance to have a little fun and make a big difference," said Liberty Co-Founder Ryan Clark.
The contest is open now and runs through 11:59 p.m. on Feb. 20. Entries will be posted on Facebook (www.facebook.com/libertybottleworks) and judged based on the following criteria:
- The number of likes an entry receives on Liberty's Facebook page
- Best design as decided by Liberty's art staff
- The artist's chosen charity
Artwork must be no larger than 11" wide by 8.5" tall, must be original and should include "Earth Day 2012." Artists can enter by submitting to the Liberty Bottleworks Facebook page and including their chosen charity in the comments section. Entries may also be sent to email@example.com and will be posted on the Liberty Facebook page.
Three finalists will be chosen and during the week of Feb. 22-28 the design with the most Facebook "likes" will be the winner.
Thanks to Liberty's one-of-a-kind cylindrical digital printer, art mediums from illustrations to photographs can be faithfully recreated on bottles in any color or design.
