SAN DIEGO, CA (September 2, 2008) – Injinji, innovator of the patented Performance Toesock™, continues in its mission to maximize foot health, comfort and performance for amateur and professional athletes worldwide, while at the same time, minimizing environmental impact by offering several sock series made from sustainable fabrics and fibers.

“Injinji is committed to seeking out eco-friendly materials and processes for its socks,” said Jan Kimbrell, vice president of sales. “This is of benefit to both the environment and the consumer, as many of these natural fibers have inherent performance and comfort-enhancing properties.”

Featuring a two-patent design, Injinji socks separate each toe with a thin, anti-friction membrane that's both lightweight and breathable. The seamless interface minimizes skin-on-skin contact and moisture and encourages healthy circulation and digital alignment.

For 2009, Injinji introduces the Rainbow, a five-toe-sleeve interface in the Performance Series that features a new, renewable COOLMAX™ EcoTech™ fabric created from repurposed recycled plastic bottles and postindustrial waste. The highly-evolved material replicates the original COOLMAX® fabric's moisture-wicking, breathable features, making the Rainbow a comfortable, sustainable sock that doesn't sacrifice performance abilities. Available in Mini-Crew in retro fun colors including Rainbow White, Rainbow Black and Rainbow Blue. MSRP: $14. Available February 2009.

Also new from Injinji for 2009 are Yoga Toesocks™ made from naturally anti-bacterial NüBamboo™ – a fiber softer and 3-4 times more absorbent than cotton. Available in two styles, the Yoga Toesock Series and the Toe-Less Yoga, the socks provide yogis, Pilates practitioners, dancers and gymnasts the freedom and flexibility of being barefoot, but offer added protection for use outdoors, on gym floors or on ‘loaner' mats. A slip-resistant sole with raised treads offers superior grip, control and increased balance during exercise, while a contoured heel pocket and arch support stretch to fit the unique shape of the foot without slipping or bunching.
The Yoga Toesock is a five-toe-sleeve interface offered in White, Black, Rust and Moss. The fun and fashionable Toe-Less Yoga, offered in Berry/Charcoal, Rust/Chocolate and Charcoal/Black, also features five individual toe sleeves, but keeps the toes bare – a perfect sock for stretching and warm-ups. Mini-Crew only. MSRP: $16. Available February 2009.

Injinji additionally offers the Eco Series, a collection of finely-crafted socks made from natural and organic materials, including a Cream Crew in all-natural organic cotton and a Tan Quarter in cashmere-like, antimicrobial NüBamboo. MSRP: $14 Available now.

And for those who enjoy the performance-enhancing properties of Injinji's patented five-toe design, yet prefer a thicker interface, the Liner Series in supple NüBamboo is available. Designed to be a first-layer sock that can easily pair with a favorite traditional outer sock, the Liner keeps the foot cool, dry and protected in a moisture- and friction-free environment. Available as a Crew in Tan. MSRP: $12 Available now.

Injinji is the maker of Performance Toesocks™ (“tsoks”) for sport, outdoor and casual use.
