(Boulder, CO) August 6, 2014 – In Spring 2015, Hanwag will update its handcrafted outdoor footwear collection with premium materials and new performance elements, including the use of the anticipated GORE-TEX® Surround technology. Specialists in fit, Hanwag uses a customized selection of lasts and outsoles each designed to promote optimum performance during niche outdoor activities. The new collection will introduce boot models specific to alpine climbing and hunting, as well as general trail use. Ranging in price from $240.00 to $800.00, the Hanwag Spring 2015 collection will be available beginning in January 2015 at specialty outdoor stores and at www.hanwagboot.com.

Najera Low GTX® Surround | $300.00
The Najera Low GTX®Surround features the use of groundbreaking technology, GORE-TEX® Surround. GORE-TEX® Surround has a specialized, honeycomb air pocket structure that promotes extreme breathability. Built on a Vibram® Cross outsole, the Najera Low GTX® Surround has a flat tip for better precision, as well as an aggressive tread pattern at the ball and heel. A shock absorber at the heel and a polyurethane-laminated suede heel counter provide comfort and durability. The boot will also be offered in a mid-height silhouette, the Najera Mid GTX®Surround (MSRP $350.00).

Togiak GTX® | $275.00
A lightweight addition to Hanwag’s Trek category, the Togiak GTX®features a blended Cordura®, suede and neoprene upper with a full GORE-TEX®Laminate lining. The boot is equipped with Hanwag’s flexible Vibram® Mars outsole, traditionally used in the brand’s Air (paraglide) category. The lightweight outsole has a wide sole surface, a high-grip profile and turf cleats for sure-footed movement. A low cut neoprene cuff at the ankle and cushioning throughout the boot provide added comfort. The Togiak GTX® will also be offered in women’s sizing.

Tudela Light GTX® | $250.00
The Tudela Light GTX® debuts as a new offering in the Travel & Trail category, a line comprised of lightweight and multifunctional footwear that transcend from the outdoors to casual wear. The upper blends suede and waxed G-1000® Futter materials for a light, yet durable design. The boot features a full GORE-TEX®Laminate lining and flex zones at the front of the foot for added performance. Built on Hanwag’s StraightFit last, the Tudela Light GTX® provides more space for the toes by allowing the big toe to assume a straighter position. Additional features include: a high-traction Vibram® Running outsole, an adjustable lacing system with metal lace rings and a supportive TPU insert under the foot arch. The Tudela Light GTX® will also be offered for women.

Avior GTX® | $800.00
The most technical boot in Hanwag’s Alpin category to date, the extremely lightweight and reduced seam Avior GTX® is rated to protect in temperatures as low as -4° F (-20° C). The boot features an integrated Cordura® and neoprene gaiter with a drawcord width adjustment and a full GORE-TEX®Laminate lining. A neoprene zip cover at the cuff prevents catching and provides additional protection for the elements. The Avior GTX®is equipped with Hanwag’s specialized Vibram® Alpin outsole; the stiffness of the outsole combined with a narrow tip on the last provide critical aspects specialized for alpine climbing. A robust carbon insole, an air pocket structure in the midsole, and a full-length shock absorbing polyurethane shank lend to durability and comfort. Additional features include: a waterproof zipper at the instep, polyurethane cushioning at the heel and Click-Clamp eyelets that enable different lacing tensions at the mid-foot and at the ankle.

Eclipse III GTX® | $600.00
Hanwag updates its popular Alpin silhouette, the Eclipse, to introduce the Eclipse III GTX®. The upgraded model features a cowhide leather upper with a full GORE-TEX® Sierra lining. With thermal insulation rated to perform in temperatures that reach -5° F (-15° C), the Eclipse III GTX® also features the same last and outsole design as the Avior GTX® making it a great boot option for high altitude ice climbing. A soft neoprene cuff, a shock absorbing wedge and added cushioning throughout the heel provide comfort. Additional features include: an exchangeable inner tongue, two sets of insoles and reduced toe spring for prolonged use with automatic crampons.
Yellowstone Gaiter GTX® | $425.00
Built for hunting and wear in marsh-covered terrain, the Yellowstone Gaiter GTX® features an integrated neoprene gaiter that prevents dirt, scree, water and snow ingress. The upper also blends a waxed G-1000® Heavy Duty fabric with suede panels into a hardwearing, yet sleek aesthetic. With an aggressive tread pattern similar to the Hanwag Tatra and Yellowstone II GTX®boots, the Yellowstone Gaiter GTX® is a great option for lateral movement. A stiffening shank in the midsole also lends to extra support and a lightweight design. Additional features on the boot include: a waterproof zipper at the instep, a neoprene zip cover at the cuff to reduce snags on brush and a neoprene cuff with drawcord for width adjustment. The Yellowstone Gaiter GTX® will also be offered in women’s sizing.
Burang | $240.00
The latest addition to the Yak collection, the Burang borrows the silhouette from the Rotpunkt, a popular model in Hanwag’s Rock category. The silhouette is updated with premium Tibetan Yak leather and waxed G-1000® Heavy Duty panels to produce a hardwearing and hydrophobic upper. With a multifunctional tread pattern and tonal black design, the Burang seamlessly crosses from trails to the streets. Additional features include: a protective rubber rand, full leather linings for enhanced comfort and a dual-rubber cushioned sole. The Burang will also be offered for women.
