The Handful team will compete against four other companies for substantial funding
PORTLAND, OR- October 18, 2017
Handful™, an active lifestyle company that creates sports bras designed to “Flatter, not Flatten®,” and apparel that supports grabbing life by the handful, has been selected as one of the finalists at the 14th Annual Bend Venture Conference (BVC) , taking place October 19th - 20th, 2017.
The Bend Venture Conference is the largest angel conference in the Pacific Northwest. Hosted by EDCO, a non-profit corporation supported by private and public members, the events mission is to help finance promising business startups to create middle-class jobs in Central Oregon.
Handful was selected to be a finalist at the Bend Venture Conference after a presentation this past September by Handful CEO and Founder, Jennifer Ferguson. Ferguson will be presenting on stage in the Growth Stage Company Competition, a category open to companies that have a proven concept, have generated initial revenues, and are prepared to scale quickly with investment.
Ferguson and Jody Filkins, CFO and COO for Handful, will then answer a series of questions following the presentation.
Last year, over 600 attendees, 50 prominent investors, and 89 companies attended the 2016 Bend Venture Conference. Investments, awards, and prizes of nearly $4 million were part of the celebration of entrepreneurship and innovation. The winner of the Growth Stage category earned $1.75 million in funding. This year, Handful will be competing against four other companies including: Drone Complier, InvestiPro, LeadMethod, and tripgrid.
