POULSBO, WASHINGTON (August 20, 2018) – Grundéns and Salmon Sisters, two iconic brands with roots in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska have collaborated to create a new line of women’s gear that represents life and work on the water. The Grundéns X Salmon Sisters Maris Hoodie and Tights are available at grundéns.com and aksalmonsisters.com.

“We’ve been wearing Grundéns since we were kids, helping on the back deck of our family’s fishing boat. It’s so fun to now team up and design gear for women who work on the water,” Says Salmon Sisters co-founder Emma Teal Laukitis. “When we’re fishing, it’s essential to wear the right gear so that we can stay warm, dry, and focused on our work. Maris is the perfect layer to keep you cozy under your rain gear, even on days when the rain and waves won’t stop.”

Grundéns X Salmon Sisters Women’s Maris Hoodie and Tight

Designed by the Salmon Sisters and built by Grundéns, Maris is a cozy and work-ready insulating layer intended to be worn under fishing bibs and rain gear. Both the hoodie and tight are constructed with breathable 200g/m2 poly fleece using flatlock comfort stitching and four-way stretch fabric that provides comfort and warmth all day long. A high neck drop hood, moisture wicking interior, and thumb loop cuffs are built for all-day wear on the water. A zippered front pocket pouch keeps valuables in place.

A whimsical nautical pattern displays imagery familiar to sailors and fisher-women alike. Kelp, nets, and fish adorn the periwinkle legging, and the matching hoodie’s shoulder anchor-emblem and leather logo cuff-patch give the Grundéns pieces a distinct Salmon Sisters style.

About Grundéns: Carl A. Grundén began producing traditional waterproof oilskins in 1911 for the fishermen of the North Sea in Grundsund, Sweden. Material shortages during World War I forced the company to close but in 1926 Grundéns Regnklader AB was founded and has been producing quality gear ever since.
