Nine Line’s Operation: New Trails - a 75-mile hike through Colorado - raises awareness and funds for injured veterans

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (June 14, 2016) –Gregory Mountain Products, a global leader in backpacks and adventure travel gear, is helping to raise awareness and funds for injured veterans through support of the Nine Line Foundation’s Operation: New Trails.

On June 27, 75 participants from around the country and Canada will embark on a five-day, 75-mile trek on the Nation’s premier long-distance hiking trail, the Colorado Trail. The team of hikers, comprised of active duty service members, veterans and citizens, begin their journey at Watertown Canyon and end in Breckenridge, Colorado, where they will be greeted with food, libations and supporters at a final celebration on July 1. The total elevation gain and loss over the 75-miles is 22,992 feet.

Each of the participants will receive a Gregory pack in an aptly colored red or blue symbolizing Gregory’s support of our troops and in celebration of the upcoming Independence Day holiday. The company is proud to support the Nine Line Foundation and their mission of getting people outdoors to help America’s veterans.

With the help of Gregory Mountain Products and other sponsors, Nine Line’sOperation: New Trails will raise money for the Nine Line Foundation, Inc., an all volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to raise awareness of the harsh circumstances our severely injured service members and their families face once their life threatening injuries are stabilized, and to greatly enhance the quality of life of our wounded heroes. The Foundation donates to projects on a case-by-case basis. The most recent project is building a fully handicap-accessible home for SFC(R) Aaron Causey, who served our nation proudly for almost fourteen years, before being catastrophically injured by an IED.
