Good To-Go Partners with Revolution House Media to Launch its Gourmet Dehydrated Meals

{Kittery, ME} - Good To-Go gourmet dehydrated meals was founded by Jennifer Scism, an award-winning chef and long-time co-owner of Annisa, a nationally recognized restaurant in New York’s Greenwich Village. Scism’s career has long been focused on the importance of good food. She has cooked at NY Times 4-Star rated restaurants, traveled to over 20 countries studying regional foods, and along with her team from Annisa, has beaten the Iron Chef, Mario Batali, on the TV Food Network’s Iron Chef program. It’s safe to say she knows good food.

Good To-Go is launching with three lightweight, dehydrated gourmet meals made with all natural ingredients, no preservatives or additives. Smoked Three Bean Chili, Herbed Mushroom Risotto and Thai Curry are gluten free and vegetarian, with the exception of the Thai Curry being suitable for pescatarians. Product offerings are expected to expand to offer more dinner and breakfast options.

Co-founders Jennifer Scism and David Koorits knew that getting the word out about their gourmet creations would require someone who understands the industry, has strong relationships with the media, and can help position their brand among many larger, more established dehydrated and freeze-dried offerings. They were referred to Kate Ketschek at Revolution House Media. Being a sucker for a good story and tasty food, Kate knew this was going to be a great relationship. 

“When Jen and I came up with the concept of Good To-Go last year, we knew we had a great product. We also knew that a great product wouldn’t simply jump off the shelves and into everyone’s backpack.” One of the key components was to build brand recognition. We were fortunate enough to have found Kate through word of mouth. It took Jen and I about 5 minutes after Kate walked through the door for us to give a silent nod to each other saying “YES.” We asked her to come on board that day. Kate came up with a brilliant media box in which Good To-Go was introduced to the media and the results have been astonishing with fantastic write ups in many key magazines and websites. In addition to her strong media relationships, she continues to assist with social media, setting up connections with outdoor manufacturers & retailers, and discovering new promotional opportunities for us every week. Perhaps my favorite thing is her response when I get an email or phone call from someone with a PR related question— ‘I’ll take care of it, that’s my job.’ And that’s what she does, she does an extraordinary job,” said David Koorits, co-founder of Good To-Go.

“We recently had the opportunity to sample Good To-Go’s offerings, which are just as tasty at home as they are on the trail. The risotto is appealingly earthy and creamy, while the chili is hearty—even without the meat. Caramelized onions and corn give the beans sweetness and texture.”

Good To-Go’s chef Jennifer will be cooking her current offerings from scratch as well as re-hydrating them in Jetboil cook systems at the Outdoor Retailer show. Wednesday - Friday, show attendees can stop by the Johnson Outdoors booth (26027) during Happy Hour (4-6 pm) for a beer and taste of Jennifer’s creations.
