Dagger Reveals Team-Driven Phantom Kayak for February 2018

New, high-performance creek boat racks up podium wins

Dagger, the industry leader in whitewater kayak innovation, introduces the new Phantom: an agile, fast and furious whitewater kayak designed for speed and fit like a glove for optimal power transfer and control.

“The Phantom is fast, really fast,” said Mark “Snowy” Robertson, product designer for Dagger. “We set out to bring a whole new realm of freeride-style paddling that will open up fluid lines for so many paddlers. It’s the culmination of two years of athlete-driven development and testing to realize a boat that excels at planing away from drops, carrying speed into the next rapid and being paddled with all the flair and style you can throw at it.”

The Phantom stays high and dry on the water, hunting for the surface like a great white if it ever does get submerged. It carries its speed through holes and away from drops while achieving a perfect balance of tracking and maneuverability and rapid directional change when on edge.

Dagger designed the Phantom for hard-charging whitewater boaters. It features higher density, stiffer and impact-resistant construction for added durability and repeated impact. A step-out wall adds structure to the boat and facilitates an emergency exit in the event of being pinned. The Phantom also includes five metal grab handle locations that can be used for safety clip-in points during rescue.

The volume of the Phantom has been optimized for both performance and fit with sizing that can accommodate various paddler heights and sizes. Step up to the Phantom.

The Phantom is $1,249 USD and launches to retailers in February 2018.
