Fall Creek and Choose Outdoors team up to support National Get Outdoors Day

November 17, 2009 (Golden, CO.) – Fall Creek, LLC has teamed up with not for profit Choose Outdoors to support the third annual National Get Outdoors Day (NGOD) taking place in Denver City Park on June 12, 2010. NGOD has quickly grown to be a premier event whose mission is to encourage healthy, active outdoor fun. The prime goal of the event is to reach first-time visitors to public lands and reconnect our youth to the great outdoors.

“NGOD has grown larger then ever expected in just three years. We anticipate seeing over 7,000 guests and 150 exhibitors at the 2010 event” states Susan Alden Weingardt, USDA Forest Service Partnership Liaison. “The past two years have been a great success and we're looking forward to the events continued growth in 2010 and beyond”.

NGOD began in 2008 and has been led by the US Forest Service, American Recreation Coalition, and a number of diverse organizations and individuals passionate about the outdoors. One of the main objectives of those involved is to combat the threats posed to today's youth such as the growing obesity numbers and the projected shorter lifespan of our children due to lifestyle choices

While attending the event, spectators will be treated and exposed to numerous different opportunities to educate them about the outdoors. Their will be activities for kids of all ages to participate in such as getting a true rock climbing experience on the portable climbing wall, go geocaching, learn how to put up a tent, find out information about where to go fishing, and many more.
