Boulder, CO (October 29, 2020) – Camber Outdoors, a national nonprofit working to equip Corporate Partners with the strategy and tools to achieve workplace inclusion, equity, and diversity across the outdoor recreation economy, announced that Wilma Wallace, VP, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for REI, has joined their Board of Directors.

“I’m thrilled to be locking arms with an organization that shares my strong belief that drawing a diverse network of talent is an industry imperative as the U.S. population and our consumer bases also becomes increasingly diverse,” says Wallace. “I hope to bring my voice and perspective as an African-American woman with over 25 years of experience in the retail industry and championing progressive change to address that imperative in service through Camber Outdoors.”

Wallace joins a Board of exceptional industry leaders alongside newly announced 2021 Co-Presidents Michelle Wardian, President at Outdoor Research and Reginald Miller, VP of Global Inclusion and Diversity at VF Corp.

“Wilma brings to Camber Outdoors a tremendous passion for workplace inclusion and unmatched experience as a leader in legal and compliance,” said Steve Meineke, current Board President and Operating Partner at Roundhouse Collective. “I’m excited to work with her and for our Board to gain her unique perspective of our industries’ challenges and opportunities.”

More than 11,000 employee members are currently active with Camber Outdoors programming including the Workplace Anti-Racism Action Agenda LEARN + ACT + CHANGE framework launched earlier this year, the Camber Workplace and Employee Surveys built in partnership with Claremont Evaluation Center, the Diverse Talent Pipeline Employer Learning Sprint, the Ann Krcik Professional Mentoring Program, and the Building Blocks of DEI, a “block-by-block” learning journey to support high-performing, inclusive, equitable, and diverse workplaces.

Companies are invited to learn more about becoming a Partner to gain access to year-round survey insights, tools, and learning resources that support their active engagement in building inclusive, equitable, and diverse workplaces.
