Big City Mountaineers Relocating to Support Significant Program Growth

Big City Mountaineers announces an office move from its current location in Golden to a larger space in Denver’s City Park neighborhood.

Golden, Colo - Big City Mountaineers, the country's leading volunteer program devoted to providing mentoring and growth opportunities to inner-city teens through multi-day wilderness experiences, announces an office move from its current location in Golden to a larger space in Denver's City Park neighborhood.

The new Big City Mountaineers and Summit for Someone headquarters will be located at 1667 Vine Street. The old Victorian house will hold the staff, allow for personnel expansion, and allow BCM to implement its teen hiring program that was successfully piloted in BCM's California program during 2006.

“Our new location is a response to the growth we've experienced in both Big City Mountaineers and Summit for Someone,” says Tony Barreiro, Director of Operations. “Although partially driven to accommodate staff growth, this move was equally driven in an effort to expand how we serve the teens in our program. BCM will be providing significant employment opportunities for teens to help design and deliver our program to their peers.
