Backpacker Magazine Wins Two Folio Awards

Backpacker Magazine (www.backpacker.com) has just won two Folio Awards. The awards are given by Folio Magazine in recognition of editorial and online excellence. Backpacker won the Gold Award for the "Online: Best Tool" category, and the Bronze for "Best Full Issue" in the Consumer: Enthusiast category. The magazine was recently acquired by Active Interest Media (www.aimmedia.com) from Rodale in May 2007.

In addition, AIM won three other Folio Awards:

•Yoga Journal Magazine (www.yogajournal.com), won the Silver in the "Best Full Issue" in the Consumer: Health/Fitness category. The magazine has previously won four Folio Awards for “Best Health and Fitness Magazine” in the country as well as the top award for “Best Consumer Publication.”

•Vegetarian Times (www.vegetariantimes.com), won the Bronze for "Best Full Issue," Consumer: Epicurean category.

• Wild Oats Magazine won the Bronze for "Best Full Issue," Custom Publication (6x-plus/year) category.
