Backcountry Denim Co Kicks Off its Consumer Launch of Jeans Built for Every Adventure with Kickstarter Campaign

Backcountry Denim Co, makers of denim for adventurous lifestyles, has announced its first Kickstarter campaign. Featuring its Heritage line of denim jeans for men, the campaign launches today at, with products launching to consumers in September 2017.

Founded in the summer of 2014, Backcountry Denim Co spent three years developing and wear-testing their products. They are committed to building the most durable jeans and creating a perfect fit, with maximum mobility and an aesthetic that takes its wearers from the office to the mountains and back again.

The Heritage jeans incorporate the strongest fiber on the planet, Dyneema®. The brand also partnered with the original denim mill in the US, Cone White Oak Mills™, to weave this unique blend, creating the strongest 12-ounce weight denim in the world.

All of Backcountry Denim products are sourced and produced proudly in the USA. The Heritage line is manufactured in the birthplace of jeans, San Francisco, just minutes from the company’s office on Mt. Tamalpais in Mill Valley, California.

“We started Backcountry Denim because when we looked around, none of the outdoor brands had the needed denim focus to produce a truly premium hybrid, and no denim company was focused on the outdoor application,” says founder Jordan Phillips. “We live in quality denim, and after years of working at technical outdoor companies and with denim brands like Levi’s, we knew we could bring a denim to market that was top of the premium scale, at a reasonable price, incorporating hidden technologies for maximum strength and mobility. After 382 days in a single pair of Backcountry Denim jeans, I can honestly say that we have done it.”

Backcountry Denim keeps its designs simple and timeless, ensuring that each feature is crafted with purpose. Every pair in the Heritage line of jeans include:

• Mobility Gusset: A hidden gusset provides extra movement in the crotch area, plus reinforcement exactly where most jeans fail first.

• Reverse Curve Pocket: The stretched-out S-shape isn’t just there for looks. The S-feature moves away from the body, providing a much easier entry for digging out your keys, even when seated.

• The 6th pocket: A semi-hidden welt pocket within the left front pocket, just big enough for a large smart phone or wallet while keeping it separate from the rest of the items in your pocket.

• Double Reinforced Back Pockets: Most jeans use a single layer of denim for the back pocket. Since this is also one of the first spots jeans fail, Backcountry Denim Co instead uses one piece of denim, doubled over before being cut.

In addition to their quest to create the world’s most kick-ass denim, Backcountry Denim has an overarching purpose for launching the brand. They are dedicated to Plant, Remove and Improve our public lands. For every item they sell, they will dedicate hours to Plant native species in deforested areas, Remove invasive species, garbage and waste, and Improve trail systems.

“One of the very first things we did when creating our company was to purchase a 40-foot long 1968 Crown Coach bus. This bus is our nonstop, forever on the road showroom, home, office – and ultimately, the Plant Remove Improve maintenance vehicle that will partner with hundreds of local organizations on a national scale,” said Phillips. “We can’t wait to get more people on the bus and on the trail.”
