1% For The Planet Welcomes New Marketing Director Gaelan Brown

1% for the Planet, one of the world’s leading networks of funding for environmental work, is pleased to welcome new marketing director Gaelan Brown to the 1% team.

Waitsfield, VT -- 1% for the Planet, one of the world's leading networks of funding for environmental work, is pleased to welcome new marketing director Gaelan Brown to the 1% team. Brown brings a background in journalism, Internet business development, consulting and values-based marketing along with leadership experience in sustainability-focused non-profits.

Brown will lead marketing and communication activities related to the brand and will report to Melody Badgett, 1% for the Planet SVP of Marketing, Acquisitions and Partnerships.

“Gaelan brings a wealth of experience, critical thinking and great energy to One Percent for the Planet,” said Badgett. “We're excited to welcome him aboard as we work to deepen our relationships with our existing member-base and non-profit partners while building the One percent brand to create more value to all stakeholders in our network.”

Prior to 1% for the Planet he held roles as Vice President of Marketing for national solar-power installer groSolar and as Senior Marketing Manager at Green Mountain Coffee Roasters. Brown also writes a regular column and blog for the non-profit news journal, Vermont Commons as “An Energy Optimist,” and he is co-founder/Board Chair of www.CompostPower.org, a non-profit focused on generating energy as a by-product of compost systems. Brown is a native Vermonter and graduated with honors with a BA in Mass Communication and Economics from Washington and Lee University.
