Did you hear?... The Ute Mountaineer celebrates its 25th anniversary
The Ute Mountaineer in Aspen, Col., is celebrating its 25th anniversary by adding 60 percent more retail space to the store and kicking off a week of special events from July 9-14. "We worked with some of our key vendors, utilizing their in-house merchandising specialists to help us create an overall atmosphere of comfort and spaciousness in both the new and existing space. Our goal is to make the store more inviting to customers. We have moved our book section to the new space so that we could have a sofa and chair for people to come and sit. This section will be directly adjacent to our newly expanded travel and women's sections," said Sha Cohen, buyer and merchandising manager for the Ute Mountaineer. The new layout of the store includes an open staircase ascending to an expanded loft area and the new retail space. A major benefit of the expansion will be a separate store entrance on the high-traffic Hyman Avenue Pedestrian Mall. Additionally, the rental and ski shop areas have been moved upstairs.
