Apparently, Outdoor Retailer magazine is in a different time zone than the rest of the world since subscribers to its weekly email news update received what it called Monday's news on Friday. SNEWS®, and a few other readers who took the time to email us, got another chuckle with Editorial Director Doug McClellan's statement, "We can draw upon the industry’s biggest and deepest staff of professional journalists--who are also outdoor enthusiasts." SNEWS® humbly points out that size isn't everything and that being professional and an outdoor enthusiast should be a standard of entry for any qualified industry reporter, not something that requires pointing out. We are, however, relieved to learn that the OR's staff is deep, because if someone sprains a finger typing, it's nice to know you have backups to step in to fill a starting editor's shoes.
