Weekend Watch: Brotherhood of Skiing
In 1973, Art Clay and Ben Finley organized a gathering of African-American skiers in Aspen, Colorado. Nearly 50 years later, most of those skiers along with newbies to the organization are still congregating at resorts around the country to strap planks of wood to their feet, socialize, talk about subjects unique to the black skiing population, and celebrate. The gathering has become one of America's largest ski clubs: the National Brotherhood of Skiers (NBS). This 10-minute film presented by REI tells their story.
