The North Face® Opens 14th U.S. Retail Location
SoHo store rings in the holiday-shopping Season
SAN LEANDRO, California—November 28, 2006— The North Face®, the world's premier supplier of authentic, innovative, and technically advanced outdoor apparel, equipment, and footwear, today announced its fourteenth retail location will open on December 2nd. The North Face SoHo store is located in New York City at 139 Wooster Street.
The North Face SoHo continues the brand's strategic expansion into key markets and the 4,300-square foot store is the third retail location to incorporate The North Face updated retail design featuring oversized large graphics, concrete floors, wood, and red accents. The North Face SoHo also features the new, eco-friendly fixture package made of pressed bamboo and hot rolled steel, both, adding an even greater sense of refinement to the store.
“The new SoHo location reflects The North Face overall retail design updates and has been refined to highlight our extensive and growing footwear selections,†said Lindsay Rice, The North Face Vice President, Retail. “The store also features 50" and 65" plasma television screens to share The North Face expeditions and outstanding athlete accomplishments with customers.â€
The retail portion of 139 Wooster Street is part of a new development by the Arun Bhatia Development Corporation. Jim Downey and Eric LeGoff of Cushman & Wakefield's Retail Services Group represented The North Face in its site search and in lease negotiations with developer Arun Bhatia. The super luxury loft-style condominium, designed by architecture firm Beyer Blinder Belle, consists of 16 residences on eight floors with 11-foot-high ceilings and exclusive finishes, a Zen garden, and a fitness studio for residents.
This is the fourth and final retail store opening of 2006 for The North Face and arrives just in time for the 2006 holiday buying season.
