The North Face, the world's premier supplier of authentic, innovative and technically advanced outdoor apparel, equipment and footwear, today announced the 2009 Never Stop Exploring Speaker Series, a nationwide tour that will bring the stories of six top The North Face Athlete Team members to life.

As part of the 24-city tour, The North Face Global Athlete Team member and ultramarathon runner Dean Karnazes will share his tales of adventure and extreme endurance with Chattanooga residents at Rock/Creek at 2 North Shore on October 3, 2009. In “Go The Extra Mile: Life on the Run,” presented by The North Face and Rock/Creek, Dean will encourage professional, amateur and aspirational runners alike to get outside and push their own personal limits as the fall running season gets underway.

Dubbed "The Ultramarathon Man," and ranked among Time Magazine's 100 most influential people in the world, Dean's message to all is, "Get off the couch, get healthy, go the extra mile." With a physiology adapted for endless running, he's completed 50 marathons in 50 states in 50 consecutive days, run 350 miles - nonstop - and most recently completed an ultramarathon across the world's five great deserts, the Atacama, Sahara, Gobi, Death Valley and Antarctic.

The presentation will begin at 7:00 PM EST and will be preceded by a 5:30 PM VIP reception that will benefit The Lula Lake Land Trust, an organization dedicated to the preservation of the Rock Creek watershed on Lookout Mountain. Rock/Creek has been a long-time supporter of the Land Trust, having given over $10,000 to the organization in recent years.

Tickets for the event start at $8.00 and are available at www.thenorthface.com/speakerseries. VIP Reception tickets, which include preferred seating, a meet & greet with Dean, beer, wine and light food, are available for $20.00. There will also be a limited amount of free seating available on a first come first serve basis (seats are not guaranteed). Following the presentation, there will be an interactive question-and-answer session and a book/poster signing.

Dean will also make an appearance at the 9th Annual Rock/Creek StumpJump 50k, where he will compete against world-class athletes in one of the country's largest and toughest 50k trail races. He will give a presentation for registered racers on Friday night before the race. For additional information, please visit http://www.rockcreek.com/stumpjump/
