Outside Magazine Names Skirt Sports Among "The Year's Best Gear"

Skirt Sports, inventor of the original fitness skirt and leader in the women's fitness apparel industry, is proud to announce that its bestselling Gym Girl Ultra has been selected as the top women's specific running bottom in the coveted Outside Buyer's Guide summer 2010 issue. The biannual guide, on newsstands now through Oct. 5, reaches over a million frequent gear purchasers.

"Earning a spot in the Outside Buyer's Guide is like winning the New York City Marathon in the running goods industry," said Nicole DeBoom, founder and CEO of Skirt Sports. "Companies dream of flipping through the glossy pages of this issue and finding one of their products. Based on customer and retail feedback, we know the Gym Girl Ultra is an amazing product, but it is a huge honor for us to have it validated with a spot in 'The Year's Best Gear' by Outside magazine.”

Now in its 15th year, Outside Buyer's Guide is often regarded as the outdoor retailers' bible when it comes to researching the best merchandise for their consumers. The magazine's testers and editors spent six months testing thousands of products in order to narrow the summer list to the top 315 winners including the Gym Girl Ultra, a multi-functional running skirt.

Part of Skirt Sports core collection, the Gym Girl Ultra is built from lightweight, moisture-wicking jersey and mesh. The skirt features built-in shorties and includes a music port for easy access. Outside Buyer's Guide said, “A naysayer to the skort? This quick-dry, mostly polyester skirt (with built-in shorts) is so comfortable it will convince you otherwise. Its 13-inch inseam hit just the right spot on our thighs to be flattering, and the four-inch shorts didn't move midrun (read: chafe-free). Plus, two internal pockets secure gels or an iPod.”

Skirt Sports' Gym Girl Ultra (MSRP $60) is currently available nationwide at hundreds of retailers and online at www.skirtsports.com.Â
