Outdoor Sports Marketing Hosts Empowering & Entertaining Invitational

Southeast Retailers share epic adventures, campfires, and sales training tips with Vendors and Reps at OSM Dealer Invitational.

October 11th through the 14th, Outdoor Sports Marketing led a group of over 70 of the best Outdoor Specialty Retailers and Vendors on adventures through the woods and waterways of Pisgah National Forest. The 2011 OSM Invitational brought together retailers and vendors to collaborate on best practices, sales training, and future product innovations.

Built from the vision of Rion Smith and Nolan Davis, the OSM Invitational included several days of kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, mountain biking, road biking, hiking, climbing, and fly fishing. Attendees received all their gear courtesy of OSM's generous Vendor partners and local outfitters. Through passionate participation, retailers gained critical product knowledge and end user credibility to drive sales at their stores.

OSM enlisted the services of Tony Tanner from The Mann Group to present an engaging and useful sales training seminar discussing the topic of “Putting the ‘Specialty' back into Specialty Retail.” Coupled with rep clinics, campfire roundtables, delicious food, and craft brews, the Invitational molded fun and training in an action packed week.

Rion was thrilled with the success of the 5th OSM Invitational. “The Invitational was a wonderful opportunity for our Southeast dealers to get together and have fun, remember why we are in this industry, and gain valuable tools to take back to their customers.”

Nolan appreciated the investment retailers made to attend. “We cannot thank our dealers enough for supporting this event. The investment of their time and personnel was inspiring and reinvigorating for the OSM team and our vendors.”

Katherine “KC” Corbett worked tirelessly to ensure retailers and vendors were able to maximize their time together. KC, OSM's Clinic Specialist, Brand Champion, and Events Coordinator, secured vendor donations, organized each activity, and brought an incredible amount of knowledge and excitement to the Invitational.
